Youth Protection is the #1 Priority of the BSA

To ensure the safety of all of our young men and women in Scouting, the youth protection training requirements for all leadership has been updated.  It is now mandatory for all leaders to have completed youth protection training prior to registering and then renew that training at least every 24 months.  Click here for full details.

Council Basic Training Initiative Policy

In order to ensure that all youth in our Council receive the best Scouting program possible, the Executive Board of the Ozark Trails Council considers it imperative that all registered leaders become familiar with the Scouting program, how it works at the different levels and how to implement it, while making it fun and exciting for the youth of the program. All this is accomplished through leadership training.  Click here for full details.

Woodbadge is open to any leader in Cub Scout, Boy Scouts, Varsity, and Venturing, as well as district and council level volunteers. Its focus is on leadership skills rather than outdoor skills. It has become one of the highest level of Scout leader training offered in local councils. 2012 dates are April 27-29 and May 18-20.  Leaders must attend both full weekends beginning at 7:30a Friday through 5p on Sunday (approx times).  Do not delay, there are limited spaces.  Click here for the brochure and registration form.
