Scouter Awards
The Pathfinder District would like to thank all the leaders and other volunteers for the hours and service that they have put in to have great program for the youth of the Pathfinder District. Recognizing the accomplishments of our adult volunteers is very important. Please take the time to recognize your unit leader for all of the great things they do.

The Boy Scouts of America has numerous awards that you and the other leaders in your unit may earn along their trek through scouting. Check out the link below to see some of the requirements for the various leader awards. The Pathfinder District presents adult leader awards each month at Roundtable as well as during our Annual District Dinner. http://www.boyscouttrail.com/square-knots.asp

Cub Scout Day Damp (information and forms)
The Pathfinder District Cub Scout Day Camp will be held June 10-12 at Price Cutter Park in Ozark, MO. Sign up your scouts to come join us for three days of action packed fun! This year’s theme is “Dinosaurs, the Ice Age.” Our day camp volunteer staff has been working very hard to create a top notch program for 2010. Volunteers are still needed to help work some of the individual program areas. If you or your unit has individuals interested in helping with our program areas please call Jim Madison at 883-1636 Ext. 231 to get signed up as a staff member.

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Festival (click here)
Come share the scouting experience with the public  September 10th-12th 2010. Sign your troop up at the Springfield Service Center By Sept. 2nd. It is a free event for scouts and leaders, and campout at Springfield Lake!

2010 Fall Recruitment
The Pathfinder District Membership team would like to let everyone know that the district will once again this year be having one Roundup/School night date for the District. The date of the one night school recruitment is still being determined at this time. We will let everyone know the date as soon as we confirm.
This is a great opportunity for us to capture a lot of new boys or even boys that got lost in the shuffle and want to rejoin all in one night. We are asking that every pack and troop to please recruit an individual to serve as school night chairman to cover each school that you recruit from. Please call Jim or Michael to confirm who from your unit will be present at each school.

Program Planning
Now is the time to start thinking of what you want to do for your program for the next year in your unit. Scouting is all about the program. The better the program you have for the boys the more fun and the longer the boys will stay in the program. Please set down with your committee and plan out your units next year of program so that everyone will enjoy cub scouts and boy scouts. Parents appreciate it when a unit can present a calendar of events for 3-6 months at a time. This allows each family to plan their activities and gives them an idea of upcoming financial commitments for different events. The earlier your unit gets their calendar set, the better chance you have that families will schedule their activities around scouting and not vise versa.
